FO: Pomme de Pin with pictures!

Written by Sarah on May 2nd, 2012 Posted in cardigan, FO, knits

As promised, some real photos of my latest sweater! I’m very happy with how it turned out!

I basically haven’t taken it off since I finished it! My only complaints are that the sleeves are too long (oops!) and I did a bad job setting in the right shoulder. I should really pull the sleeve off and do it again because it sits all wonky on my arm but I probably won’t for a while.

I was complaining that the dark olive color made it difficult to see the lace but I think it’s great. I love the color. I was lying before. I’m a liar.

Buttons. I did buy these really great buttons that are gold and black but they’re a bit bigger than I wanted. I’m actually quite happy with how the sweater looks sans buttons and the button holes are pretty hidden (read: I definitely made them too small but it was my first button hole experience, too! Oops!) so it doesn’t look obvious. Although I am pleased with the placement of the button holes. I didn’t follow the pattern here (Sorry, Amy!) I’m just so bad at picking up stitches evenly. I admit it! I got as close to the number as I could and then I faked it.

I’m happy without buttons. What do you think? I figure I can always add them later. But I’ve been wearing this like a fool so it’s a-okay right now!

It was so fun participating in the KAL! I’m so excited for the other knitters to see my FO! And all of their sweaters are beautiful. It’s really motivational when you’re comparing your work like this. And lots so fun being part of a group that is so talented! Thanks, ladies!

I like your sweater so much that I’m pretty tempted to make myself a Pomme de Pin.

And you could always go with toggles or a shawl pin if you wanted to be able to close your sweater. But I’ll agree that it looks great without buttons.

Shawl pin is a great idea! You should make one of your own. It was so much fun!

Hey, I made a kiss face at the end – not a grr face!

It’s beautiful! I’m a sucker for anything green and cardigans, especially green cardigans!

Yes I love the relaxed fit. It feels so casual and lovely. The construction of her patterns is so unique. She is one of my favorite designers.
